A video for teaching patients about anticoagulation

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has produced an educational video for patients who have recently been prescribed an anticoagulant. Staying Active and Healthy: Blood Thinners, which is available at https://www.healthcare411.ahrq.gov/videocast.aspx?id=555, explains why an anticoagulant is prescribed, what it does, and what patients need to do to take the medication safely. It describes a BEST strategy for a patient who takes an anticoagulant: Be careful in your activities; Eat right; Stick to a routine; and Test regularly.
