Clostridium difficile: An Old Player With a New Hand in the Game

Novel, epidemic strains of Clostridium difficile are associated with greater morbidity and mortality in nosocomial settings. Proper infection control measures, pharmacotherapy, and implementation of aggressive measures to stop recurring infection are discussed.
