Dental Emergencies

It is increasingly common for patients to present to the ED with dental problems. Some conditions warrant immediate management of infection or injury; others require pain control and follow-up with a dental or oral surgeon. The authors discuss basic dental anatomy as well as nontraumatic and traumatic origins of pain.
