Lumbar Spine Stabilization System

N Spine, Inc. announced that it has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance of its NFix™ II dynamic pedicle screw and rod system for stabilization of the lumbar spine as an adjunct
to fusion.

NFix™ II is now commercially available in the United States. N Spine notes that early clinical results outside of the United States with the company’s NFlex™ Controlled Motion System have been very favorable. NFlex™ is designed to control shear motion, while allowing a more physiologic level of flexion, extension, and lateral bending. NFlex™ is CE marked for non-fusion indications.

Biomedical Spine Implant

LifeNet has unveiled the VertiGraft VG2® TLIF Spine Specialty Allograft. This product is available for lumbar fusion surgery to treat lower back pain.

VG2 Spine Specialty Allografts feature composite cortical-cancellous-cortical construction to provide every allograft spacer with inherent osteoconductivity. The geometry of LifeNet VertiGraft VG2® TLIF is intended to facilitate a streamlined straight-in, oblique surgical technique. It is a machined allograft composite made to promote fusion by providing both the biomechanical strength of cortical bone and the osteoconductive matrix of cancellous bone.

VG2® TLIF Allograft was co-developed by DePuy Spine and LifeNet to offer the benefits of a VG2® graft in a TLIF solution.

Anatomic, non-Circular Radial Head Prosthesis

Acumed offers the Anatomic Radial Head System as a comprehensive solution for radial head fractures that is designed to provide a precise anatomical implant to replace the patient’s native radial head. Anatomic radial heads and stems are said to replicate the patient’s natural radial head geometry. The offset anatomic dish on the proximal end of the radial head implant is designed to provide improved articulation with the capitellum. The neck angle is 4°, preventing implant loosening and maintaining the properly angled relationship between the radial neck and the plane of the head.

Straightforward instrumentation includes a unique collar height gauge for an improved method of determining overall length of the radius. Color-coded broaches, trial heads, and stems allow quick distinction between system
